Dennis Rowland Plays at VU w/ Special Guest

The VU Bistro has recording jazz artist Dennis Rowland on Friday nights in March and the event is hosted by Tommy Holloway. Friday nights are always exciting with both Dennis & Tommy and with the great food it makes for a wonderful atmosphere.

Here is some brief information on Dennis Rowland. Dennis was born in Detroit and got his big break playing in the renowned Count Basie Orchestra. During that time he performed with such icons as Tony Bennett and Ella Fitzgerald. He now performs in the Phoenix area and we are very excited to have him at the VU this March.

During Dennis' performance last Friday night we had a special treat as Joni Sledge from the group Sister Sledge came up to sing with Dennis (Dennis & Joni picture above). Joni's group Sister Sledge is well known for the song "We Are Family."

In this video (above) Dennis, Joni, and Tommy sing a spontaneous musical arrangement. You can see Dennis Rowland and host Tommy Holloway every Friday night in March at the VU.
